Client drinks your guests will talk about, a team night with a guided wine tasting, or the whole venue for the end of year. Septimus is a two-storey wine bar at 220 Grenfell Street with French and South Australian wine, artisan cheese and a team that runs the evening so you can host it.

Reserve upstairs for up to 20. Boards on the table, a wine selection chosen for your guests, and a host looking after the room.
Team wine tastings
A guided tasting led by our Winemaker in Residence: six wines, cheese to match, and an hour that gets people talking. Blind tasting formats work well for competitive teams.
End of year and Christmas
The whole venue, both storeys, for up to 50 standing. Sabrage on arrival, grazing boards through the night and a licence that runs until 2am. See Christmas functions for December dates.
The spaces
- Upstairs, reserved: up to 20 guests. Semi-private, ideal for client drinks and board dinners.
- Exclusive use: the whole venue for up to 50, seated or cocktail style.
- Tuesday and Wednesday: we are closed to the public, so the venue is available for exclusive use on those evenings.
How pricing works
There is no room hire fee. Functions run on a minimum spend that goes entirely on food and wine for your guests, set by the day and the space. As a guide, packages start from $20 a guest for boards and wine by the glass, $40 a guest upstairs with a cheese and wine flight, and $80 a guest for exclusive use. Food and wine
We do not have a kitchen. Food is artisan cheese and charcuterie boards with seasonal accompaniments and canapé-style bites, and we can arrange outside catering for longer events. The wine list leans French and South Australian; for functions we can build a selection around your budget, a region or a single producer.
